Why we built SnipChamp

Every creator, educator, and professional we know records more footage than they publish. The bottleneck isn't creativity — it's the workflow. Upload a 2 GB lecture recording to a web editor, wait for it to process, trim 30 seconds, re-download. That loop is broken.

SnipChamp takes the edit engine — the trim, the split, the subtitle generator — and runs it entirely in your browser using WebAssembly. Your file never leaves your machine. There's no cloud processing cost, no privacy trade-off, and no wait. You drop the file, edit, export.

What we believe

Privacy should be the default, not an upsell. A local-first tool that respects your footage is more useful than one that earns money by holding your data in the cloud.

Speed is a feature. “Instant load” isn't marketing — it's what happens when you skip the upload.
