Privacy Policy

1. Overview

SnipChamp is a browser-native video editor. The core product runs entirely in your browser using WebAssembly — no video data is transmitted to any server. This policy explains what minimal data we do collect (for the website itself, not the editor) and how we handle it.

2. Video footage

We do not receive, store, or process any video files. When you edit in SnipChamp, the file is read by your browser's File System API and processed by WebAssembly code running in your tab. Nothing is uploaded. Nothing leaves your device.

3. Information we collect

3.1 Waitlist signups

When you join the waitlist, we collect your email address and store it in our email service provider (Resend). We use this address only to notify you when SnipChamp launches and to send infrequent product updates. We do not sell or share this list.

3.2 Website analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand aggregate traffic patterns on the marketing website (snipchamp.app) — page views, device types, and country-level geography. This is aggregated; it does not identify individual visitors. No analytics runs inside the editor.

3.3 Cookies

GA4 sets cookies to distinguish unique visitors. We do not use cookies inside the editor. You can disable GA4 via browser extensions (e.g. uBlock Origin) or opt out at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

4. Data retention

Waitlist email addresses are retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion. Analytics data is retained per Google's default GA4 retention policy (14 months).

5. Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing support@snipchamp.com. We will respond within 30 days.

6. Data processor

Resend, Inc. processes email data on our behalf under their privacy policy. Google LLC processes analytics data on our behalf under their privacy policy. No other third parties receive personal data.

7. Security

All website traffic is served over HTTPS. Waitlist data is stored in Resend's SOC 2 compliant infrastructure. Because the editor runs locally, there is no server-side footage data to secure.

8. Children

SnipChamp is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be communicated via email to waitlist members.
